Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted in testimony before Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s politically motivated House Select Committee to Investigate January 6th that she essentially ignored the directions from the then-President of the United States and other White House officials when it came to limiting television and media appearances of Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, who was the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator under President Donald Trump.
Of course, Griffin would employ a more politically palatable term, saying that as White House Strategic Communications Director she would “work around” orders from Trump and senior advisors Kellyanne Conway and Hope Hicks, according to the transcript of her testimony released this week by the one-sided panel that set out from Day 1 to find Trump guilty of crimes related to the protest at the Capitol — real or imagined.
Now a co-host of ABC’s “The View,” Griffin claimed Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign wanted to steer away from talking about COVID-19 because it wasn’t “driving home a message” for the president’s reelection, according to Fox News.
“And so I had to kind of work around that,” she said. “One of my solutions was I would put the doctors on regional television because no one would notice, and I would just literally put, like, Dr. Birx in this studio that we had and she would do like 4 hours of regional TV interviews in places that were having big outbreaks.”
The conniving deception taking place behind the backs of those above her calls to mind former George W. Bush special assistant Nicolle Wallace, the left-wing zealot who now has her own show on pro-Democrat MSNBC.
“And at one point Kellyanne Conway told me, ‘Do not put the’ — she and Hope cornered me in the Oval in front of the president and said, ‘Alyssa, keeps putting the doctors on TV. It’s driving down the numbers. It’s scaring people over COVID. You need to tell her not to have the doctors on,’” Griffin added. “And so the president told me point-blank to not have them on TV anymore.”
“So I got with Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx, who I’m very close with and remain close with, and said we’re going to work around this, give me a little bit more time. And I went with the regional media strategy. And I would just start interspersing them back on national media, and I’d get yelled at by Kellyanne and others,” she said.
Griffin also called former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany “a liar and an opportunist” in her testimony.

A former senior Trump official told Fox News that Griffin seemed to be bragging during her testimony — then again, as turncoats like Wallace and the grifters at the Lincoln Project have proven, there are vast rewards in alleged conservatives helping advance the Democratic cause.
“It’s remarkable she appears to be boasting she was somewhat responsible for creating the Fauci media monster – a disaster,” the person said.
“What she leaves out is that the White House media strategy had become a confusing mess – substituting advisors as the leader responsible for making difficult decisions that would significantly impact the trajectory of the nation,” the person said. “Only a duly elected president has been charged with that responsibility because a president has to incorporate a myriad of factors into decisions that will affect the wellbeing of a nation. Medical advice is only one aspect to that.”
Then again, political ideologues always seem to believe that they know what’s best.
While Fauci is revered on the left, the man who proclaimed that he IS science has prompted plenty of questions about his actions, beginning with support for gain-of-function research, which is a leading candidate in the cause of a virus that killed more than a million Americans, and his dismissal of the possibility of a lab leak.
Republican attorneys general Jeff Landry and Eric Schmitt, from Louisiana and Missouri respectively, have filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration claiming the federal government colluded with Big Tech to control communication about COVID-19, including the theory that the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, and Fauci is a central figure here.
“Defendant Dr. Anthony Fauci, a senior federal government official, coordinating with others, orchestrated a campaign to discredit the lab-leak hypothesis in early 2020,” Landry and Schmitt said in a brief, according to Fox News. “As director of [the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases], Dr. Fauci had funded risky ‘gain-of-function’ research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through intermediaries such as EcoHealth Alliance, headed by Dr. Peter Daszak.”
