With inflation persisting across economic sectors, consumers are becoming more discerning about how they spend their money.
Coresight founder and CEO Deborah Weinswig joins Wealth! to give insight into how and where consumers are choosing to spend their money as inflation lingers.
Weinswig explains the "huge focus" for consumers is on value: "It’s almost this hourglass: you’re going to spend on duration, you’re also going to spend on value, and the middle continues to get squeezed."
She adds that grocers that are not value-oriented will feel the squeeze: "So that would be like a Kroger (KR) and Albertsons (ACI) et cetera. We’ve really seen Walmart (WMT) pick up, share and continue to not only be top of mind for consumers, but also very focused on budget and some of their new programs around loyalty. "
