US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff held a phone call with Putin’s top foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov, advising him on how Putin could broach a Ukraine peace plan with Trump, including setting up a call before Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s White House visit. The conversation appears to be the genesis of the 28-point peace proposal that emerged earlier this month, which the US has pushed Ukraine to accept as the basis of a deal. Columbia University Senior lecturer in Political Science Elise Giuliano joined Carol Massar and Tim Stenovec on ‘Bloomberg Businessweek Daily’ to break it down.
