On today’s show, Fed Governor Christopher Waller says the US central bank should cut rates this month, citing signs of labor market weakness. Waller’s remarks set him apart from his fellow policymakers, and come amid Donald Trump’s criticism of Chair Jerome Powell for not cutting rates. Waller says he hasn’t spoken to the Trump administration about the possibility of succeeding Powell.
