Bloomberg Daybreak Europe is your essential morning viewing to stay ahead. Live from London, we set the agenda for your day, catching you up with overnight markets news from the US and Asia. And we’ll tell you what matters for investors in Europe, giving you insight before trading begins.

On today’s show, the US President says he is not planning to fire the Fed Chair Jerome Powell, after speculation that he was moving to do so sent markets into a shortlived nosedive. Meanwhile Donald Trump says he’ll send letters to more than 150 countries setting tariffs on their imports at 10% or 15%.

Plus TSMC reports better-than-expected earnings across the board, with a 61% jump in second quarter profit on resilient demand for high-end AI chips.

Today’s guests: Håkan Samuelsson, Volvo Cars, CEO; Morten Wierod, ABB, CEO.
