Sixteen people have been killed in Australia’s worst terrorist attack after gunmen opened fire on Jewish people who had gathered to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach on Sunday evening.

At around 6:47 p.m. on a Sunday, gunshots rang out at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, where more than 1,000 members of the Jewish community had gathered to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah.
Two gunmen, later identified as Naveed Akram and his father Sajid, fired what appeared to be long-barreled rifles, resulting in the deaths of at least 15 people and injuring 27 others, including two police officers.
