New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy — who has said he could declare a state of emergency over the strikes — used strong language when providing a status update Friday morning.
The state won’t “cave” to the union’s demands and any deal will have to be fiscally responsible, Murphy said. He added that the state is ready to restart negotiations with union representatives “this second.”
