President Donald Trump says he plans to impose a 100% tariff on films produced overseas, extending his restrictive trade policies on US imports to the entertainment sector for the first time. Alpha CEO Steven Wolfe Pereira, a former Univision executive, suggests this will be difficult to implement as a way to boost "made in America" because most productions are global in nature, and foreign markets like China — the world’s second-largest market for films — are key to a movie’s success.
