European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday that the European Union has the right tools needed to protect people and the prosperity of the bloc in light of upcoming trade tariffs coming from President Donald Trump’s administration in the US.
"We have the strength to negotiate, we have the power to push back," von der Leyen said. "The people of Europe should know that together we will always promote and defend our interests and our values, and together we will always stand up for our Europe."
