Sudan’s army recaptured the national capital from the Rapid Support Forces militia, a turning point in a two-year civil war that’s drawn in outside powers and torn the resource-rich North African country apart. The RSF had seized control of swathes of Khartoum and the rest of the nation after the eruption in April 2023 of a conflict that may have killed as many as 150,000 people.
