TikTok’s future in the US remains uncertain as the ByteDance-owned social media platform awaits the Supreme Court’s decision that could ban the app unless Chinese ownership divests from it.
Yahoo Finance senior legal reporter Alexis Keenan joins Market Domination hosts Josh Lipton and Julie Hyman to discuss the possibility of President-elect Donald Trump issuing an executive order to step in and "save" the platform. O’Leary Ventures chair and Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary spoke with Yahoo Finance last week about his group bid to acquire TikTok.
Though, legal experts believe the Supreme Court is reluctant to put that kind of power in Trump’s hands, especially if the court upholds the law. If the ban proceeds, TikTok might still negotiate with the government for a resolution.
