In his CES keynote, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang spent a lot of time talking about the company’s new gaming chip and humanoid robots. But he also spent time discussing autonomous vehicles. Why? In an interview with Yahoo Finance Tech Editor Dan Howley, Huang explains it’s all about data and Nvidia’s (NVDA) ability to help customers use and manage it. "In order to build a self-driving car, you need to train a mountain of data, video data," he says, adding, for example, how Nvidia’s graphics chips can not just be used in video games but for simulations to train autonomous vehicles. "If just right now where the self-driving car business is, if it’s already a $5 billion business for us, imagine how big it’s going to be when we have a hundred million new cars per year. A trillion miles driven per year. This is likely going to be one of the largest robotics industries in the world and one of the largest computing industries in the world." Huang also spoke about Nvidia’s new GB10 superchip, describing it as a way for people "to have an AI supercomputer personally." The chip is based on the company’s Blackwell platform, which is seeing "incredible" demand, according to Huang. He also expects Blackwell’s revenue share to exceed predecessor Hopper’s share early this year. Nvidia’s stock surged on its big AI bets, but gaming is still a core part of the company’s business. Huang thinks AI will "revitalize" the gaming industry, both for creators and players. "The cost of creating content will go down because of AI.
