As people prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday, rising food costs impacting the holiday meal are top of mind for many. Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute group head Robin Wenzel joins Josh Lipton on Asking for a Trend to break down where consumers can save in the grocery store. Wenzel explains Well Fargo found the "pricing gap" between name brands and store brands is narrower compared to last year’s Thanksgiving dinner as brands "scale back to meet consumers where they are." She notes despite the narrowing gap between name brand and store brand products this year, "You’re still going to save with that store brand." She explains that while there is little difference in name brand versus store brand turkeys, consumers may find big savings buying store brand rolls from their grocery store bakery rather than the name brand.
