Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Wednesday that the European Union’s imposition of additional tariffs on electric vehicle imports was "typical protectionism." He also said the levies would violate "market economy principles" as well as disrupt trade cooperation between Beijing and Brussels. The EU’s tariffs on EVs shipped from China are due to start in July.
