New York Governor Kathy Hochul says agencies are checking on bridges, roads, railways and other vulnerable infrastructure to make sure they’re safe after an earthquake shook parts of the state and New Jersey. The preliminary 4.8 magnitude temblor was the strongest in the area since 1884, according to the US Geological Survey. It was centered in New Jersey. Hochul speaks in Albany.
