The Senate has passed a spending package just one day before the deadline for a government shutdown.
In a 68-29 vote on Thursday, the Senate approved the 4,155-page, $1.7 trillion bill.
Every Democratic senator voted for it along with 18 Republicans.

Senate Republicans help Omnibus pass with two-thirds majority, sending $1.85 trillion spending and legislative package on its way.

At least 18 Republicans joined all Senate Democrats to pass a $1.85 trillion omnibus spending bill Thursday afternoon, in the final two weeks in which Democrats control the House of Representatives.
The bill passed 68-29. Since there are 47 Democrats in the Senate and 3 Independents who caucus with Democrats, at least 18 Republicans voted to support the package.
Conservatives called the move during the lame-duck session a “stunning act of betrayal.

The Senate on Thursday advanced a mammoth $1.7 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill that includes $45 billion in new Ukraine aid and $858 billion for the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
The spending bill passed in a vote of 68-29, with only Republicans voting against it. The legislation now heads to the House and needs to be enacted before midnight on Friday to avert a partial government shutdown.
The passage of the bill came a day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Congress.

Twitter owner Elon Musk announced the arrival of view counts on tweets in what appears to be a bid for algorithm transparency.
“Twitter is rolling out View Count, so you can see how many times a tweet has been seen!” Musk announced Thursday, noting the feature was previously available for videos shared to the platform.
“Shows how much more alive Twitter is than it may seem, as over 90% of Twitter users read, but don’t tweet, reply or like, as those are [impressions].”
