The Wall Street Journal editorial board offered a dose of geopolitical reality to right-wing critics of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s well-received speech before the U.S. Congress on Wednesday evening.
The Rupert Murdoch-owned publication began its editorial on Thursday evening by noting Zelenksy came to Congress and the made case that aid to Ukraine, which he repeatedly expressed thanks for, has a solid “return on investment.”

Well, it’s December 23, and we’re about to start The Hayride’s usual end-of-the-year powering down. But before we start the Christmas weekend and our slower holiday schedule next week, we wanted to take a minute and wish our readers all the blessings of the season.

“Maricopa County Attorney Argues That Voters Who Wait Until Election Day to Vote Then Encounter Problems Reap What They Sow.

The electricity has been restored to the San Juan Islands.
Early Friday, the Orcas Power and Light Co-op reported almost all residents have had power returned.
An outage that began at about 5 p.m. Thursday turned the lights out for virtually all homes on the islands.
OPALCO said the blackout was caused by an issue identified on the mainland with Puget Sound Energy.
Repair crews restored power at about 2 a.m., but it took a couple of hours for all residents to have their electricity come back.
About one-thousand customers remain without power.
